Luton Lights Up

The free annual Christmas lights switch-on event, sponsored by Luton Rising, Luton Lights Up for Christmas is taking place on Saturday 22 November 2025, with a day of live music and entertainment across the town centre.

Delivered in collaboration with our partners, Luton BID and Luton Council, the seasonal line-up celebrates community, creativity and Christmas cheer.

This year’s special guest is Paddington™, appearing courtesy of Luton BID. Festivities begin at 11am, with the official lights switch-on scheduled for around 6pm.

Times and locations

• Countdown to Christmas kicks off in Central Square with our free bauble decorating from 11am to 5pm
• Live music and entertainment on the stage outside from 2pm.
• Meet Paddington at intervals from 2 to 6.30pm outside the town hall
• Light switch on from 6pm outside the town hall.
