Going green at Luton Point guide

This month we are shouting out all the ways you can recycle at Luton Point. See below our handy guide.

Boots recycle a wide range of health and beauty products, including contact lens packs, glasses, tablet blister packs, vitamins, and other wellness items. Simply download the Recycle at Boots app, scan your products, and drop your empties in-store. When you recycle 5 or more items, you’ll receive £10 to spend in-store or 500 Advantage Card points. Find the recycle point in-store today.

Recycling your used coffee pods at Costa is simple. First, ask a barista in any Costa store for a pod recycling bag. Each bag can hold up to 75 pods, whether plastic or aluminium. Once it’s full, simply seal the bag and drop it off at any store. Costa will then send the pods to be sorted and recycled, keeping them out of landfill and giving the materials a second life.

At H&M, you can drop off unwanted clothes and textiles to be recycled or repurposed. Not only does this help reduce waste and give fabrics a second life, but you’ll also earn points on your H&M membership as a reward for recycling!

Bring your unwanted tech to Gadget Exchange to sell and reduce electronic waste. Other phone providers will also recycle your old phone - check with your provider.

The Perfume Shop makes it simple to recycle your empty perfume bottles. Just drop off your bottles in-store and you’ll receive 15% off your next purchase.

CeX offers a tech recycling scheme where you can trade in unwanted gadgets, games, and electronics for cash or store credit. Items can be sold in-store or via a free home collection service, helping to reduce electronic waste. If an item is rejected, you can choose to have it returned or recycled, ensuring it doesn’t end up in landfill. By selling, reusing, and recycling tech, CeXxhelps customers contribute to a more sustainable future while getting value from their old electronics.

F.Hinds will buy your broken and unwanted jewellery to be recycled, giving precious metals a second life. Before heading to the store, you can use their handy online calculator for a free scrap value estimate. In-store, you’ll receive excellent rates for cash, or an even higher value if you opt for an F. Hinds Gift Card, with up to 50% more than the daily cash price. It’s the perfect way to part exchange old pieces for something new, while ensuring valuable materials are reused responsibly.

New Look is making it easy to shop sustainably and support great causes. By donating your pre-loved clothing and accessories to your local Hospice UK shop, you’ll help fund vital care, keep items out of landfill, and receive 15% off your next New Look shop. And it’s not just fashion, if you’ve bought a new electrical item from New Look, you can also recycle your old one for free in-store within 28 days under our Electronic Take-Back Scheme. Together, these initiatives make it simple to refresh your wardrobe, upgrade your gadgets, and protect the planet all at once.

Primark accepts unwanted clothing, textiles, bags, and footwear from any brand and in any condition. Even towels, bedsheets, and pyjamas are welcome. Simply place your clean, washed items into the labelled donation boxes in-store. Primark will sort and recycle or donate them, with clothing donations going to UNICEF, supporting children and communities in need. You can also recycle used batteries at Primark, keeping hazardous waste out of landfill and helping valuable materials get a second life.

River Island makes it easy to give your pre-loved clothing a new life. You can donate any brand, not just River Islan, with a minimum of three items per donation (bras are accepted, but not pants, socks, or swimwear). For each qualifying donation, you’ll receive a £5 gift voucher to spend on a £40 shop, valid for one month. It’s a simple way to clear your wardrobe, help others, and get rewarded!

Superdrug makes it easy to recycle your old medicines and empty blister packs. In partnership with brands like Benadryl, Buscopan, Calpol, Nurofen, Imodium, Nicorette, Optrex, BuscoMint, Dulcolax, Sudafed, and Allevia, collection boxes are available in every Superdrug Pharmacy, so you can safely dispose of your empty medicine blister packets. For safe recycling, return waste in-store, only include personal and household waste, and only return empty blister packs. Plus, Superdrug also offers a battery recycling point in-store, so you can drop off your used batteries to be responsibly recycled.
