The Short Tail Trail is here, the beautiful sculptures certainly make an impact across the town!
Keech Hospice Care has once again filled Luton with colour and energy with 90 beautifully painted hare and tortoise sculptures, following the success of the Big Trunk Trail in 2021. This exciting free public art trail can be found around Luton landmarks until 12th September.
Here at Luton Point we are big supporters of Keech Hospice Care, and delighted to be one of their business presenting partners, alongside welcoming some of the smaller sculptures in the centre.
We are so happy to be working with local Luton artist Beverley Sweetman on our sculpture again, the design of which celebrates all the things that make Luton so great. Our hare is named Colour My World, with her vibrant colours acknowledging the town’s diverse blend of people and cultures. The design also incorporates the symbols taken from the Luton Coat of Arms… wheatsheaf, bees, thistle and rose. You can find her in the Atrium.
Trail maps can be picked up from Centre Management for a small donation. They can also be picked up from the Keech Hospice Care shop on Park Street alongside selected trail merchandise including the The Hare and the Tortoise Short Tail Tale story book, specially created for the trail and set in Luton.
Don’t forget to download The Short Tail Trail app to unlock our reward. All you need to do is open the app, ‘collect’ our sculpture and then head to either Centre Management or our Summer Maze event to collect your free gift*.
